Bernard G. "Bernie" Pilger, 73, of Brewerton passed away at Francis House after a year long battle with cancer on December 15, 2022. He was born in Syracuse, NY on September 14, 1949.
Bernie was a Navy Veteran of 22 years, and retired out of Norfolk, VA as a Chief PO. Then, when he moved back to Syracuse he started working at the Fay's (Rite Aid) Distribution Center and retired after 23 years. After retirement, Bernie spent his time traveling with his wife to see their children. Every Sunday he attended mass at Sacred Heart Church until the pandemic. He loved to garden, go to the casino and was an avid SU and Jets fan. He was always telling stories and made everyone laugh. He doted on his eight grandchildren and loved them very much. Everyone who knew him loved him.
He is predeceased by his Parents, Bernard J. and Rose M. Pilger; three Brothers, Henry (Rick) 1972, Greg 1995 and Dennis 2013.
Bernard is survived by his Wife of 32 years, Priscilla Pilger; Children, Jacqueline (Bruce) Kuchta, Bradley (Bernadette) Pilger, Ricky (Tina) Pilger; eight Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Mari-Elena "Mimi" Knapp, and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be, 11am on April 28th at North Syracuse Cemetery with Military Honors.
