Benjamin Edward Springer

Benjamin Edward Springer, 25, of Hastings, passed away November 5, 2020.

Benjamin was born in Syracuse, New York on May 5, 1995 to Stephen and Kay Springer. He was a lieutenant with the Central Square Fire Company #1, a Senior Deacon for the Fort Brewerton Lodge #256 Masons, an active member of the Watkins Glen International (RSI) Racetrack Fire Department. He loved exploring new places on his motorcycle. You could find Benjamin riding his bike with a backpack filled with Mountain Dew to every fishing, mountain, and camping locations in the area. Ben would drop anything to help others including help you move something heavy, fix your car, drink a beer with you, or even put the Christmas tree up at his church, The First Baptist Church of Central Square. Ben was always surrounded by friends who loved him and was never afraid to live life to the fullest.

Benjamin was predeceased by two grandfathers, Gary Springer, and Harvey Spink; grandmother, Geraldine Spink; and cousins, David Fowler, and Nicholas Dupre.

He is survived by his parents; and sister, Rebekah Springer; brother, Alexander Springer; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a grandmother, Linda (Tom Owen) Springer.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7pm. A service will take place Thursday, 10:30am at the funeral home. A burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Gathering size within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.

Memorial contributions may be made to Central Square Fire Company #1.
