Beatriz De Ferrere 'Betty' Cohen died peacefully at her home on Friday. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1931. Betty graduated Summa Cum Laude from the National Conservatory of Music. She came to the USA in 1953. Mrs. C /Beatriz, as she was affectionately called by her friends, lived in NY, MA, MI and settled in Westport, CT in 1975. She taught Music, English as a Second Language and Art Appreciation most of her life. Betty owned the Noroton Gallery in Darien, CT from 1975 till her retirement in 2002.
She is survived by her daughter Alexandra Lisa, son-in-law Matthew Paul, her grandsons Christopher and Nicholas, her sister Leonor, nephews David and Adrian, and her ex-husband Jules.
Services will be held in Westport, CT.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the Ronald McDonald House.
