Barbara Jean Tufankjian
July 18, 1940 — January 10, 2024
Barbara Jean Tufankjian, 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 with her brother by her side. She was born July 18, 1940, in Penn Yan, NY and was a graduate of Oswego High School.
She married Leon Thieleman in 1962. Together they lived in Liverpool, NY and had two children, Daniel and Cynthia.
Barbara later married John Tufankjian 1983 and together they moved to St. Petersburg, FL.
Barbara was predeceased by her son, Daniel Thieleman; husband, Leon Thieleman; brother, Richard Machuga; parents, Doris and Steve Machuga; husband, John Tufankjian and sister-in-law, Lucille Machuga.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Richardson of Flagstaff, AZ; brother, Ronald (Kathleen Watterson) Machuga of Central Square, NY and Las Vegas, NV; and several nieces and nephews.
A tribute goes to Rosie Collella who cared for Barb like family for many years. Thank you.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 1pm-4pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals in North Syracuse. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 11am at the funeral home with burial to follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
