Barbara A. Thompson, 66, passed away on Wednesday, after a courageous battle with lung cancer, at the home of her daughter, with loving family by her side. Barbara was born on February 24, 1950 the daughter of the late Ovid and Ida Parsons. She retired from Phoenix Central Schools in 2005 after 25 years of dedicated service. Barb loved spending time with her family, and will be deeply missed. She was predeceased by her husband James A. Thompson, Jr., and her sister Irene Doviak.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Tammy L. (Timothy) Murphy, Terry (Greg) Gamlen, grandchildren, Kevin P. (Monica) Fox II, Kasandra L. (Tyler) Fox, great-grandchild, Aiden J. Fox, her fur-ever companion, Chloe Pearl and the rest of the gang. Brother; Tom Parsons, Sisters: Jean Schaffer, Carolyn Berry, Linda (William Hayes) Parsons, Mary (Joe) Parsons, Pam (Bob) Burnside, Sharon (Mert) Duval, along with nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday Jan. 7th 11am at The Syracuse Vineyard, 312 Lakeside Rd., Syracuse, NY 13209.
There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in the Spring at North Volney Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of CNY and to the American Cancer Society.
