Barbara Lutz Mahoney, 80, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday. She was born on November 26, 1931 in Syracuse the daughter of the late Julia and Nicholas Lutz. Barbara graduated from St. Anthony's Catholic School and she is also a graduate of Syracuse University and worked at Crouse Irving Memorial for over 20 years as a Medical Transcriptionist, retiring in 2002. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with them throughout the US and Europe.
Surviving are her five children, ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren to include; sons; Thomas (Ellen) Mahoney, Orange, CA, Daniel Mahoney, Los Alamos, NM, Timothy (Ellen) Mahoney, Bloomfield Hills, MI,daughters; Wendy Mahoney, N. Syracuse, Barbara Damiano, Liverpool, 10 grandchildren, Jennifer , Christopher (Lorena), Sara Ellen, David, Timothy, Louis, Michael, Daniel, Thomas & Gary Nicholas, 5 great grandchildren, Brendan, Megan, Melanie, Marissa & Christopher, brother, James Lutz, sister, Shirley Weiss, along with several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother George Lutz, 3 sisters; Mary McCarthy, Julia Bataitis and Helen Lynch.
We were blessed to have her in our lives and will certainly miss her for years to come.
A memorial service will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse on Wednesday November 21, 2012 at 10am. There are no calling hours.
