Barbara J. Prasad, 64, of Tully died Monday at University Hospital. For many years, Barbara owned and operated Healthy Habits Pet Salon in Shoppingtown. She was a NAACP award winning journalist. She enjoyed showing dogs and was an avid NY Giants fan. Barbara loved her time spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Dr. Heramba N. Prasad; son, Michael (Heather) Prasad of Springfield, Mass.; daughters, Beverly (Arthur) Olsen of Arlington Hgts., Ill., Yasmine Prasad of Tully and Marissa Prasad of Pompey; sister, Mary Howard of Pensacola, Fl; grandchildren, Dylan, Zoey, Penelope, Karen and Amanda; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4-7 PM with services to follow immediately at 7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Burial will be private.
Contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
