Barbara E. (Dunlap) Lakie, 71, of E. Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Sunday with her family by her side. Born and raised in N. Syracuse, she graduated from N. Syracuse High School. On August 17, 1968 she married Donald R. Lakie and together raised 4 children. She was a team Mom for many years with Valley Little League and a volunteer with the ES-M Marching Band. She enjoyed cooking big holiday meals for her family, painting and gardening. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Barbara was predeceased by her son-in-law, Scott Gale in 2014.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Donald; children, Tina (Richard) Fitzgerald, Eric, Laurie Gale and Brian (Melissa) and 3 grandchildren, Alexander, Abigail and Olivia.

Calling hours will be Thursday 5-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse with a memorial service to follow at 7PM.

The family would like to thank the staff of James Square C North for the loving care they have given her the past year.
