Barbara A. Bailey

November 6, 1952 — March 14, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Bailey, 72, who died peacefully in her sleep at home on March 14, 2025, surrounded by family members and her beloved cats. She was born in 1952 in Syracuse, NY.

Barbara grew up in North Syracuse, NY and graduated from Cicero High School. She moved to Florida and was employed by Sears and Walmart for several decades. Following her retirement, she moved to Cicero to be closer to family. She will be remembered for her hard work ethic, her gentleness and kindness, her love of Disney Springs, fairs, strawberry festivals, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the affection for her cats Oliver and Jasper.

Barbara is survived by her sister Suzanne Truax and brothers Bruce Bailey (Monica McGuire, his wife) and Steven Bailey (Josephine). She is also survived by her nieces Ameigh Mekker (Chris), Kelly Beachner (Dave), and Paige Bailey; nephews Steven Bailey, Charles Pike Jr., Sean Bailey, Andrew Chapman, Jeremy Bailey, and Nate Bailey; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Dorothy Bailey, and her older brother, James Bailey.

The family expresses its deepest gratitude to Suzanne Truax and Kelly and Dave Beachner for generously taking Barbara into their homes and lovingly caring for her as she courageously fought a long-term debilitating illness. We also express our warmest appreciation for the aides who affectionately helped with Barbara’s care.
