Barbara (Nana) Gronau, 67, of North Syracuse passed away Friday. Born in Syracuse she worked at SSAC for many years. She was a member of the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, the Cicero Young at Hearts Club, Past member of the VFW Post 7290 in North Syracuse and was The Queen of unfinished crafts.
She is survived by her children: Deborah Gronau (Denise Stone), Laura (Jerome) Sauta, Raymond (Danielle) Gronau, brother; John Gardner, sister; Muriel O'Connor, grandchildren; Cassondra, Michael, Tyler, Joshua, Kathleen and Jacob.
Barbara is also survived by Aunts, Uncles several nieces and nephews; and by April and Chris, who were just like daughters to her.
Services will be Friday at 7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Calling hours will be on Friday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 705 N. Main Street.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Palliative Care Unit,
Unit 1-8 c/o St. Joseph's Hospital and/or Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.
