Audrey Sarah White

Audrey Sarah White, 94, died peacefully at home in North Syracuse, on Friday, October 27, 2017, surrounded by family and the thoughts and prayers of many friends. Audrey was born in Newfoundland, Canada, then Great Britain, on June 24, 1923. She emigrated to Brooklyn, New York in 1941 where she was an active member of the Women's Guild of Prospect Heights Presbyterian Church, a homemaker, caretaker and avid cook. Her abundant meals and boundless hospitality are remembered by many.

Audrey was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert Martin White and her son, Robert John White.

Audrey is held in loving memory by her daughter, Joan Sheridan, son-in-law John, and her grandchildren, Morgan White-Smith (Gillian Kindel), Zachary White and Mariah White, a source of pride and joy for her. Audrey grew to know and enjoy her step-grandchildren, Molly (Jason) Haley and Jonah (Yuri Futamura) Sheridan and seven step-great-grandchildren, Mona, Hana, Joel, Sara, Nate, Ethan and Cullen. She is survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.

In her later years, Audrey moved with her husband, Bob, to Schenectady, NY to be closer to their grandson, then Littleton, CO to be closer to her son, Bobby, and their two grandchildren. As her son's health declined, she joined Joan and John in Emporia, KS, moving again to Liverpool, NY, then North Syracuse to live with them. Along the way, Audrey enjoyed many wonderful friendships and tireless caregivers who aided with her care in recent years.
The family gives them and everyone else who cared for Audrey their greatest gratitude.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 2:00 -3:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N Main St, North Syracuse, with a service celebrating her life immediately following. Interment will take place at a later date with her husband in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Colorado.
