Asa H. Gilbert, 90, of Pennellville, New York, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 1, 2011 at home surrounded by his family.
Asa retired from Carrier in 1980 following 35 years of service as a welder. He was a member of Beacon Baptist Church. Asa was predeceased by a son, Gordon and two brothers, Russell and David Gilbert.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years the former, Barbara Huntley; two daughters, Dorothy (Robert) Unger and Linda (Edward) Cleaver two brothers, John and Fred Gilbert; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday, May 6, 2011 at 10 AM at Beacon Baptist Church, 4800 Route 31, Clay, New York. Burial will be in Phoenix Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 4-7 pm at the New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse.
