Arthur Charles Tryon, 83, of Jamesville, passed away on Wednesday August 23, 2023. Arthur "Art" was born in Watertown, New York on September 24, 1939 son of the late Alvin and Doris Tryon of Sandy Creek New York.
Art was predeceased by a son Arthur Charles "Chuck" Tryon and a daughter Cynthia Lynn Farren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Jean Tryon. His children Paul (Tina) Tryon, Eva (Lee) Cohen, Robert Tryon, and Carol (Preston Sr.) Stevens.
He is also survived by his wife Jean's children Dianna (John) Brewster and Jonathan (Heather) Fisher whom he considered family.
Art was a story teller which is how we know he spent his early days enjoying the outdoors by fishing, hunting, playing softball and basketball with his siblings and horseback riding. Art worked his teen years as a farm hand.
As an adult Art loved his faith community and was an active long time member of the Nazarene Church. He continued his love of softball and basketball by playing on his church teams, actually dominating them, to hear him tell it.
Art worked many years as the Custodian at Faith Heritage Christian School. He enjoyed the sense of community, watching the kids grow and the staff comradery.
Following retirement, Art took the job of helping to care for his many grandchildren and later great grandchildren. He provided them with guidance, structure and at times a home base. He took the job of getting them on and off the bus and ensuring they had ice cream money very seriously.
Art was a faithful, hard working, humble, kind and gentle person who was dearly loved and will be missed by many.
