Arthur R. "Art" Staring, 86, of Liverpool, passed away on Monday peacefully with family by his side. He was born on October 1, 1928 in Mohawk, NY, son of the late Wellington and Elsa Staring. He attended Lehigh University, he served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and worked for many years at General Electric. Art was an avid golfer and he was a founding member of the Clay Sportsman's Club.
He was predeceased by his sister, Ona Smith.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Louise (Pelton), 2 daughters: Gretchen (Dan) Shyne, Heather (Peter) Melnick, 2 grandchildren, Andrew Melnick & Daniel Melnick.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, with services to follow. Burial will take place on Thursday 11am at Mohawk Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to NAVAC or to AutismUp.
