Arthur K. Meaker

Arthur K. Meaker, 70, of North Syracuse, passed away March 22, 2025. Arthur was born in Syracuse, New York on April 28, 1954 to Sheldon and Emily Meaker.

Art graduated from Henninger High School, Class of ’72. Art absolutely loved playing basketball at Solvay High School, Pompey CYO, and Grant Junior High. He enjoyed watching and rooting for his favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers. Art was such a hard worker and loved kicking in his carpet. Art was the best father in the entire world and cherished every moment with his daughter, Nicole. Art loved spending time with his granddog, Bosco. He enjoyed the scenery at Onondaga Lake Park and cooking his “famous” meatballs. His smile and impact on others will last a lifetime and he will be missed dearly by so many. He was “tough as nails”.

He was preceded in death by parents, Sheldon and Emily Meaker; siblings, Patricia Madigan, Sheridan Meaker, Michael Meaker, Nancy Smith, and Timothy (Patty) Meaker.

He is survived by his daughter, Nicole (Michael) Meaker; two sons, Kevin Meaker, Marshall Meaker; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Judy (the late Pat) Mullen, Susan Dennis, Ronald (Chris) Meaker, Gail (Dennis) Odrzywolski; sisters-in-law, Marie Meaker, Mary Meaker; brother-in-law, Richard Smith; and many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals - North Syracuse, 705 N. Main St, Syracuse, where funeral services will be held Sunday at 4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or his daughter, Nicole who is graduating Nursing School in May.
