Arthur M. "Art" Bort, Jr., 85, of E. Syracuse, peacefully passed away on Friday at his home. Art grew up in the Baldwinsville area and served in the US Navy. He last worked at Thompson & Johnson Equipment Co. for several years. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW Post 9596 and was a lifetime member of the Minoa Fire Dept.
Art was predeceased by his wife, Anna Bort. He is survived by 2 daughters; Donna (Richard) Paro, AZ, Karen MacDowell, Pulaski, 2 sons; Glenn Bort, CA, James (Debbie) Bort, TX, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-3pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse with services to follow.
Contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc.
