Arlindo Fernandes Padrao, 85, of Lakeland, passed away May 13, 2024, Our Lady of Fatima Feast Day, to whom he had great devotion to, with his loving family by his side. He was born in a small northern family village in Portugal named Firuidas in 1938 to Jose Dais Padrao and Anna Amelia Fernandes Padrao. He was the youngest boy of eight children. Arlindo immigrated to the US in 1966 to chase the American Dream. His courageous heart, brut strength, determination and hard work ethic, made him a success and larger than life. There was nothing he could not do. He was employed by Allied Chemicals for 20 years as a maintenance mechanic. He completed his career at Menorah Park Rehab of CNY in the maintenance and operations department with 17 years of service. Arlindo was a long time communicant of St. Marianne Cope at Our Lady of Peace Church in Lakeland. In his free time he built two beautiful homes from the ground up. He loved gardening his small orchard, wine making, antiquing, and long country drives.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Palmira Dais Padrao and daughter, Elisa Dais Padrao, both of Lakeland; and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to his nephew, Joseph L. Padrao.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 from 4:30-7pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning at 10AM, St Marianne Cope at Our Lady of Peace Church, Lakeland. Burial will be made in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland.
