April Lynne Dean, 64, passed away Tuesday December 17th 2019, surrounded by family and friends. April was born on November 13, 1955 in Syracuse, the daughter of Jonathan and Leslie (Belt) Dean.
To those who knew her, April was a vibrant, strong, committed mother, daughter, sister and friend. In her personal life she flourished as a mother, teaching her children the core values it takes to live up to the Dean family name. She was passionate about her involvement in her community group (All Weather Friends), who consistently focused on dedicating time to those in need.
April was known to everyone as the type of person you engage with. She was truly an inspiration as a single mother who adopted 2 children and strived to have a strong career. In addition to her personal life, she had a long career at National Grid. She was dedicated to providing superior service to all those who she interacted with.
April will be remembered as an outstanding mother, supportive daughter and sister, a great friend, and a pioneer for young single ambitious minority women. April set the standard for a work/life balance with her family, her career, and her community.
In addition to her parents (Jonathan & Leslie Dean), April is survived by her son, Jonathan Stephen Dean, daughter, Paulette K. Dean, grandchildren: Cashe Poe, Mark Harris, Marleena Harris, Jeremy Rhines, Jayda Rhines, 2 sisters, Susan L. Dean (Matthew Chilton), Carolyn L. Evans-Dean (Ronald Evans), two nieces, Kiarah Evans, and Danielle Evans, along with many close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 28th from 2-6 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St, N. Syracuse.
