Anthony (Tony) L. Cuda
December 9, 2015
Anthony (Tony) L. Cuda, 69 retired medical technologist, proud grandfather of four. Anthony Louis Cuda, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse with family at his side.
Born in Utica, NY, on August 25, 1946, Tony graduated from Proctor High School and then attended SUNY Plattsburgh and Morrisville State College, prior to earning his Bachelor of Science degree from Utica College in 1971. He worked at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica as well as Upstate Hospital in Syracuse before moving to Little Falls, NY and accepting a position in the laboratory of the Little Falls Hospital where he continued to work for more than 35 years as a medical technologist and lab supervisor.
Having met in a Medieval History class at Utica College, Tony married his wife Lynn in 1972 and they just celebrated their 43rd anniversary in August. Together they loved camping, gardening, traveling, and their frequent trips to Old Forge, NY especially with their two children, Allison and Dan.
Tony is survived by his wife and two children: Allison (Cuda) Farrell, her husband Brian, and their two children, Davis and Camden, also of Liverpool, and Daniel Cuda and his wife Micaela, and their two children, Dean and Austin, of Hickory, NC. Tony also leaves behind two beloved sisters, Pat Nole of Utica, and Marie Coppotelli of Connecticut, two sisters-in-law Janet Marotta and Joyce Sfregola, both of New Paltz, NY, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, especially Jerry Pardi, of Utica, with whom he grew up, as well as his many new friends in Liverpool and old friends back "home" in the Little Falls Laboratory.
He was pre-deceased by three brothers-in-law; Angelo Nole, Donald Coppotelli, and Dominick Sfregola, who were always "big brothers" to him, and his sister-in-law, Judith Marotta.
A parishioner of both St. Joseph the Worker and Immaculate Heart of Mary churches in Liverpool, Tony was a member of St. Joseph's Senior Club, enjoyed community service, and was a frequent blood donor. But if you were to ask him, his best times were always those with the kids who called him "Poppy."
Services will be held at St. Joseph the Worker Church at 12 Noon on Saturday, December 12 with a luncheon directly following in the Parish Center.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Food Pantry at either St. Joseph the Worker or Immaculate Heart of Mary.
