Anthony "Duke" Bugow, 85, of Minetto, went out with his boots on, on Friday, Jan. 25th. He lived and died on his own terms, always "fine as frogs hair" he liked to say.
In his younger years he served in the Air force, was a motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed hunting and was an avid bowler. In later years he enjoyed gardening, re-invented Yahtzee as a contact sport, lost his battle with the neighborhood squirrels but never conceded the war and also came to enjoy the culinary arts with superb results which he shared with family, friends and strangers alike.
He was known for his kindness, generosity and sense of humor. Duke was a valued friend and neighbor, lifetime animal lover and possessed a rare"doggy charisma"-there wasn't a dog that didn't like him.
He loved and lost throughout his lifetime but was fortunate to end with his first love.
He will be fondly thought of and greatly missed by many. Most of all by daughter, Lisa; son-in-law, Michael; grandson, Nik and his Cinderella, Joan.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
