Anna Vassenelli

November 29, 1923 — December 10, 2020

Anna (Anne) Vassenelli born on November 29, 1923 passed away December 10th, 2020.
Anne was the blueprint for a perfect mother, selfless and giving, always putting her family first. She never missed any events for her children. She was all about family. A dedicated wife/mother and to our father for over 40 plus years. In 2003 when her son suffered a debilitating injury, she was right by his side and encouraging him to fight and carry on.

In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Bingo and was an excellent cook, especially her sauce. She was Invited TO BE ON RACHEL RAY SHOW BUT WAS AFRAID TO FLY AND DECLINED IT.
She especially, loved spending time with our enormously large (was at one point), Italian family. Family holidays were extra special and would put a huge smile on her face because she could assist in preparing food for approximately 17 people.
She worked at the Nettleton Shoe Company, "Gentlemen's fine shoes," for 30 plus years, a job she loved. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompeii church.

Anne is predeceased by her husband John Vassenelli and mother Helen Vivian and her brother Pat DeMascio. She is survived by her son, Nicholas Vassenelli, and Daughter, MaryAnne Fenske. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Johnathan, Kim, Nicole, (companion Justin Stewart), Joann DeFrisco Breen, Larin, RJ, and Tamara. She also leaves many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday November 27th from 8:30-10am at Our Lady of Pompei, 301 Ash St., Syracuse, followed by a funeral mass at 10am.
