Ann C. "Kate" Steding, age 57 of Central Square, NY, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, after a very long battle with COPD, with her family by her side.
Kate was predeceased by her parents, Ivan "Ike" and Rita Harrington.
Kate is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, William "Bill" Steding II; daughter, Marie Renee Steding; son, Thomas Ivan Steding; siblings, Pat Nelson, Peggy (Don) Doman, Michelle Harrington, Joe (Carol) Harrington, Marie (Bob Pinter, deceased) Harrington, and Jim (Jan) Harrington; lifelong friends, Carolyn, Shawnna and Bobbie Rogers ; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kate was born into a Catholic military family in Bitburg, Germany. She dedicated a lot of her youth to competitive swimming and had a passion for reading and knowledge.
Kate met the love of her life, Bill, in Tacoma, WA and was soon married, then settled in Central NY after Bill was honorably discharged from the Navy.
Kate and Bill started their family of two children and created a home in Central Square. Kate was employed by various local businesses, the most recent as a waitress at 916 Riverside formerly Castaways. She enjoyed many disciplines in needlecraft, researching Steding and Harrington family ancestry and still enjoyed the love of reading. Kate was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Washington State with Kate's family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kate's name to Bill and the family to assist in covering medical expenses, 705 N. Main Street, N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
