Andrew J. Rurka, 69, of Syracuse, passed away on Sunday at Crouse Hospital. He was born on November 1, 1945 son of the late Anthony and Josephine Rurka.
Andrew graduated from Syracuse University and continued his medical education with the University. He was a pediatrician for over 40 years and was involved in various medical society/alumni associations. Andrew was very proud of the fact that he was 3rd generation doctor for a lot of his patients. Andrew's family would like to thank Crouse Hospital ICU and 7th Floor Memorial for their compassionate dedicated and wonderful care.
Surviving are his sister, Josephineanne Rurka.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Services will be held on Friday 10am at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Assumption Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Iroquois Nursing Home or to a charity of your choice in Andrew's Memory.
