Ambrose "Jerry" L. McNamara

Ambrose "Jerry" L. McNamara, 82, passed away on Friday at his home in Clay. He was born on October 28, 1930 son of Ambrose and Clara McNamara. Jerry served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was retired from New York Telephone Company where he served as a Union Steward and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. More recently he was a volunteer at Upstate University Hospital where he was a favorite of the nurses. He was also a volunteer at Carrier Theatre and at the Board of Elections. Jerry was a communicant at the Sacred Heart Church in Cicero as well as at the Queen of Heaven Church in Henderson, NY, where he enjoyed many years at his beloved lakeside cottage.
He is survived by his daughter, Lauri McNamara, his grandson, Salvadore McNamara, sister, Sally McNamara Weber, brother, Robert McNamara, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia, his son Patrick, brother, Thomas and 2 sisters, Mary Ann & Patricia.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday 1:30pm at St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
