Alvin L. George

Alvin L. George, 87, of Syracuse, passed away at Crouse Hospital. He was born on February 9, 1925 in Fulton, son of Sidney and Maureen George. Alvin served in the US Navy during WW II and survived the sinking of the USS Pan Massachusettes. He was an avid Yankees fan and Syracuse fan. Alvin retired from Koerner Ford and was Salesman of the Year in 1955 for Reynolds Ford.
He was predeceased by his wife Frances in 2005 and a son Richard Terpening, Sr.
Alvin is survivied by 3 sons; Allan (Tracey) George, Robert (Carol) Terpening, Kenneth Terpening, 1 daughter, Joan (Raymond) Kimber, 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 12-1pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse with services to follow at 1pm. Burial will be in Mt. Adnah Cemetery, Fulton.
