Alton E. Smith, 84, of Cicero, passed away at home. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the US Navy. Alton was predeceased by a twin brother, Simon Smith and grandsons, Brian Raymond and Keith Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 56 yrs., Kathleen; 4 sons, Edward (Colleen), David (Lorrie), Ronald (Deborah) and Robert (Sandra) Smith; 3 daughters, Donna (Harry) Raymond, Patricia Eline and Anna Angiolillo; 2 brothers, Michael "Frank" and Edger "Emmett" Smith; 2 sisters, Sr. Mary Ellen Smith and Mary Mose; 17 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday at 10AM at New Comer Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. Calling Hours will be on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society.
