Alton P. Clark

Alton P. Clark, 81, of Camillus, passed away on Friday at Van Duyn with his family by his side.
He was born in Syracuse on December 4, 1930, son of the late Alton C. and Mary Jane Ten Eyck Clark. He resided in Camillus for 46 years. He graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy. After being honorably discharged from the US Marine Corps in 1952, where he served as an electrician, he became a Syracuse Firefighter. In 1959 he opened up his first of three barber shops in Elmwood. He retired in 2003 and was a former member of the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Mary Jane (Sorrendino), 3 sons; James (Tammy) Clark, Camillus, David Clark, Camillus, Thomas (Valerie) Clark, Lyncourt, a daughter; Diane Kallfelz, Phoenix, NY,13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a brother, Bruce Clark, Panama City, FL along with several nieces and nephews. "Papa Al", as he was affectionately called by his grandchildren, will be missed. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Sandra and 2 brothers, Robert and John.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. A memorial service will be held on Thursday 10am at the funeral home.
