Allen M. Rice, Jr., of N. Syracuse, passed away Thursday.
Predeceased by wife, Veronica Rice and daughter, Terri Rice.
Survivors include his children, Kathy Rice Of N. Syracuse, Gary (Cheryl) Rice of Phoenix, Douglas Rice of N. Syracuse and Adam Rice N. Syracuse; brothers and sisters, Murton Rice of Dansville, NY, Archie Rice of Florida, Agnes "Aggie" Haweka of Fulton, sister-in-law, Marion Rice of N. Syracuse; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
He was born in Ira, New York and moved to N. Syracuse in 1968.
Allen was a member of the NY Teamsters Local 317, retired in 1989 as a Part-Time Patrolman for the N. Syracuse Police Department. Retired again in 1992 as an Onondaga County Special Sherriff and in 2000 as a bus driver for the N. Syracuse School District.
Visitation will be 2-6PM Monday at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Mass will be 10AM Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Church, N. Syracuse. Burial N. Syracuse Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in his honor.
