Allen C. Hatch, 85, of Fayetteville, NY, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2022. Allen was born on June 18,1937 in Syracuse, NY. He wasn't born to Gilbert and Frances Frappier, but went to live with them when he was 2 years old, so they were his parents. Allen was a Veteran of the Army serving from 1956 to 1963 rising in ranks to Sergeant 1st class. He worked for the US Dept of Agriculture in the Soil and Conservation Department for 27 years retiring in 1986.
Allen had a unique sense of humor, that was a joy to be around. He was affectionately known as "Unk" by his family. He was a talented artist in many mediums, drawing, painting, woodworking and carving, making furniture miniature and full-size. He also enjoyed repairing antique furniture for many years. When he was younger, he loved the outdoors and had a camp on Oneida lake and a boat that left the whole family with wonderful memories of good times. He also had a love of cars, which included two Corvettes, one Thunderbird, and three Mustangs. He had a lifelong love of antiques and enjoyed going antiquing. In his later years, he enjoyed watching and feeding the wildlife in his backyard. His favorites were 2 squirrels, he bought chocolate chip cookies for and watching SU Basketball on tv.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Frances Frappier; Brother, Donald Hatch; Sister, June Hile; Brother-in-law, Raymond Hile.
He is survived by his Sister, Millie (Frank) Catagus; Sister-in-law, Martha Anne Hatch; 2 - Half-sisters, Judy ( Myron) Sierson, and Laura Raschke; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Allen lived in his Fayetteville home for 31 years and was surrounded by wonderful neighbors, who helped him take care of things around the house and sometimes ran errands for him too.
There will be no funeral services. Contributions can be made to a program that meant a lot to Allen, the NVRC Gallery, 101 Waverly Ave, Syracuse, NY 13244, that was the host center for their annual Syracuse Veterans Creative Arts Exhibition.
