Allan R. Weir, Sr.

Allan R. Weir, Sr., of Central Square, passed away Monday surrounded by his family.
Born in Dolgeville, NY to the late Alexander and Mildred Weir.
Allan worked in plumbing and heating his entire life, most notably for the North Syracuse School District for many years and also privately.
He loved to watch the Scottish Games and the Central Square band competitions. Allan loved to read Western novels. He also knew every back road in NY State, turning a 5-minute drive into a 3-hour tour. He was known for his sense of humor and joking with anyone.
In addition to his parents, Allan was also predeceased by his wife, Grace Weir and his siblings Robert Weir and Mary Lyle.
Survivors include his children, Nancy Weir and her longtime companion, John Huette, Allan Jr. and Marsha Weir, Anthony and Donna Weir, Christine and David Vanvolkenburgh, and Timothy Weir and his longtime companion, Tim Killian; 12 grandchildren Lisa and Dashon Turner, Robin and Alan Vargo, Melissa and Patience Yombo, Ashley and Marcus Rafferty, Richard, Nicole, Shannon, Jessica, Edward, Andrea Dinardo, Crystal and Drew Graziano and David Vanvolkenburgh and his girlfriend Courtney Troch; 27 great-grandchildren, Dashon, Devon, Layla, Jacob, Lauren, Evan, Ciera, DonnaAmelia, Amara, Dane, Hunter, Richard II, Ryan, Randy, Harry III, Thomas, Simon, Shiane, Joshua, Rachel, Brent, Brandon, Hana, Brianna, Savannah, Kayleigh and Zachary; two brothers-in-law, Gregory Furco and Samuel Furco; sister-in-law, Eileen Weir and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2-4pm on Friday at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Funeral service will follow at 4pm.
