Alicia M. Trathen

Alicia Marie Ashley Trathen passed away on October 6, 2024. She was born on June 7, 1947 in Chester, SC and was the daughter of William F. Ashley and Helen Cameron Ashley Rice. 

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Thomas; they were married for 32 years. 

She graduated from Chester Senior High and received a two year degree from Columbia College. Alicia formerly worked for Empire BCBS, now Wellpoint, for 16 years. She enjoyed bowling, fishing and her gardens, which she was so proud of. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband to many places. Alicia will be remembered for her generosity to anyone in need. She touched the lives of many, always providing a supportive shoulder to friends and strangers alike. She will be greatly missed by the many people whose hearts she touched. 

In addition to her loving husband, Alicia is survived by two step-sisters, Lynda Rice of Tennessee and Kathy Rice of Syracuse, NY; a very special nephew, Nicholas King whom she loved like her own and his siblings, Zachary and Megan King of Syracuse, NY; nephews, Steven, Matthew and Dustin of Tennessee; two step-sons, Thomas Trathen, Jr. and Daniel Trathen; three step-grandchildren, Joey, Tommy and Hope Trathen. 

Alicia was predeceased by her step-sister, Sandra Rice. 

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 25th, 2024 from 4pm-6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals in North Syracuse.
