ALICE DAYE 10/16/1924 - 8/3/2016
Alice was born in Cortland, NY daughter of Alice Lucey Dolan and James Clive Dolan. She attended Holy Rosary Grade School and graduated from Marcellus High School.
While her high school sweet heart was in WWII, she worked as the secretary to the president of the new Paul Smith's College in Saranac Lake. She and Jack Daye were in the first class at Paul Smith's.
Alice broke a leg skiing at Turin in 1948. That spring she wore white and carried a cane when she and Jack were married in Marcellus. They moved to Chittenango in 1954 and lived there until Alice moved to Buckley Landing in 2015. Summers were spent on Big Moose Lake.
Alice was predeceased by Jack Daye in 1980, by her sister Mary Little, and her brother James Dolan. She is survived by her daughter Mary Daye, MD (Brian Y Changlai, MD PhD), her son John of Big Moose Lake and grandson Brian A Changlai, MD.
Alice will be buried in St Mary's Cemetery in DeWitt. Services are private.
The family would like to thank and recognize Buckley Landing, St Joseph's Hospital, and Elderwood at Liverpool for exemplary end of life care.
