Algitha "Gike" V. Reakes (Peters), age 85, of Brewerton, NY passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Loretto Nursing Home in Syracuse. Gike was born in Watertown, NY on March 2, 1935, the daughter of Niles Peters and Marion (Robbins) Peters.
She married Kenneth R. Reakes on June 14, 1953, in Syracuse, NY. They have been married 67 years. She loved being with her family and they meant the world to her. She loved animals and babies and was always the life of any room she walked into.
Gike is survived by her six children: Carol (Dave Retzbach) Huntley of Mattydale, Mary (Fred White) Graffouliere of Central Square, Kenneth (Jen) Reakes of Hastings, Samuel (Kathy) Reakes of Palermo, Richard (Tammy) Reakes of Maiden, NC, Jack (Julie LaLone) Reakes of West Monroe, 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and other extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers and one sister, and one granddaughter.
There will be no services. Donation in lieu of flowers can be made to the Brewerton United Methodist Church in Gike Reakes' name.
