Alfred Thornton, 85, of Syracuse passed away Saturday. A life resident of Syracuse, he was a Paint Chemist. A veteran of the Army, he was a 10 year member of the Boy Scouts of America and also a member of the Holy Name Society.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years; Rolande Thornton, his sons; Daniel (Jean Marie) Thornton, Alfred (Donna) Thornton Jr., Jacques Thornton, 19 siblings, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM at New Comer Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 705 N. Main Street.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the River of Life Church, 750 James St., Syracuse, NY 13203.
