Alberto Cerelli, 75, of Clay, NY went home to be with the Lord Thursday. Born in Italy in 1935 to Orlando and Veneranda; moved to Syracuse in 1955. Al was a hard working family man, an avid outdoorsman, gardener and cook until he became disabled in 1988 from an injury at Crucible Steel. His outgoing personality found him always telling stories to family, friends and strangers alike. He was an active brother at Living Word Church for the last 32 years. He was predeceased by his brother Bernardo and his son Matthew.

He is survived by his wife, Marie (Hogan) of 50 years; his sons, Lee (Tina), Michael (Deborah); daughter, Holly; as well as eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; his brother, Fernando; sisters, Maria, Palmira, and Giovanna; and several nieces and nephews all reside in Italy.

Services will be Tuesday 10 a.m. at the Living Word Church. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours will Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the church, 6099 Court St Rd.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The Living Word Church for the India Orphanage Fund.
