Albert W. "Bill" Eichholzer
August 2, 2011

Albert W. "Bill" Eichholzer, 78, passed away with his beloved wife, daughters and only grandson by his side. He was a devoted husband to Marianne, his high school sweetheart and wife of 56 years, and cherished father to Lisa, Sandra (Cittadino) and Grandson Joseph Cittadino. Besides his wife, daughters and grandson, he leaves his brothers Richard (June), Terry (Nancy) and Fred (Faye), sisters Jill (Bob) D'Ordio, Merry (Carl) Varkett and several neices and nephews.

Bill graduated from Eastwood HS, attended SUNY Brockport and Syracuse University. He spent 30 years in building material sales most notably as Vice President of American Forest Products. He later pursued a 10-year career with the Veterans Administration and served as Chief of Prosthetics at several hospitals.

He and his family lived in over 40 different cities all over the USA but eventually retired in Syracuse. Bill was a devout S.U. Football fan/Orange Pack member. He seldom missed a game and his thoughts about S.U. Sports were published in the Post Standard newspaper. As a Korean War Veteran/amputee, encouraged by his loving wife and longtime membership in the Disabled Veterans Association (DAV), Bill inspired his daughters, grandson and hundreds of employees who worked with him. He taught them that perseverance, ambition and a positive attitude will help you achieve great things.
