Adam Carpenter

Adam Carpenter, 87, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully, Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital, after a brief illness, with his family by his side. Born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on November 6, 1922, he lived in the Syracuse area since he returned from serving in the US Army during WWII. Adam was a decorated soldier who fought with the 5th Armored Division and received the Purple Heart Award after being seriously wounded during the Battle of the Bulge. Adam retired from Allied Chemical in Solvay in 1986 after 40 years of service. He loved to fish and work in his yard and garden. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Adam was always there for his loved ones.
Adam is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Beverly (Davis), a daughter, Christine (Dave) Preston, of Central Square, sons, Mike (Kathy), of Brewerton, Steve, of Partlow, Virginia, Doug (Lisa), of Nokesville, Virginia, Dennis (Heather), of Oswego, Scot (Lauren), of Orlando, Florida and Kevin (Sherry), of Otisco; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday, 10 AM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Jordan. Calling Hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 PM.
