Thomas Edward Moon

January 26, 1961 — September 24, 2023

Thomas E. Moon, 62, of North Syracuse, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 24, 2023.

He was born on January 26, 1961, in Syracuse, NY. Tom was a hardworking individual who grew up in Bridgeport, NY, and graduated from Cicero High School.

He previously worked for Dick's Sporting Goods, Parish Supply, Ames, Lerman Carpet, and Sanico Cleaning Solutions. He was a great coworker, known for his strong work ethic, quick wit, engaging discussions, problem solving and exceptional customer service.

Outside of work, Tom was a lifelong member of the Gulf Brook Hunting Club where his love of the outdoors and camp life thrived. He cherished spending his leisure time with his beloved dogs Holly, Bailey, and Bama, as well as his friends and family. Tom was an avid SU fan, former athlete, and a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan.

He was a devoted friend to everyone he met, and especially loved feeding and entertaining at his backyard compound or in his home.Tom had an uncanny ability to maintain and nurture relationships with all who knew him, even from out of town.

Tom had a deep love for holidays, especially Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. He warmly welcomed everyone into his home to celebrate and create lasting memories. He found great joy in gathering with loved ones, sharing laughter, cooking, telling and listening to stories, sharing memories, celebrating and reminiscing. Tom was a great cook and was always looking to try out a new recipe or satisfy anyone's request.

Thomas is survived by his loving Sister, Elaine M. Moon, from Cape Coral, Florida; his devoted Brother, Martin Moon, from Cicero, NY, whom he spoke to at least twice daily and shared everything with; and his "favorite" Sister-In-Law Michelle Moon. His love and "Tomisms" will be dearly missed by his beloved Nieces, Madison Moon, Delaney Moon, Tessalyn Moon; and his treasured nephews, Brayden Moon and Colton Moon. Tom was so proud of them and all the laughter, joking around, and wonderful times they shared. Additionally, he leaves behind several beloved cousins both locally and in Cornwall, Ontario, a plethora of devoted friends—too many to be named individually, loving coworkers, and his constant companion, his rescue dog Bama. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Edward Moon, his mother, Rita (Marcil) Moon, as well as brother Daniel Moon.

Tom briefly attended classes at Herkimer Community College after graduating from Cicero High School. He had a passion for spending time at his camp in the Adirondacks near South Colton, NY, where he created cherished memories with friends and family hunting, fishing, working on camp, and hanging out with the "Big Dogs". Words cannot adequately express how much Tom meant to all, or how much he is going to be missed. He was an amazing man, gone too soon, had a "life well lived",and made a difference in the life of everyone he met. Tom believed that we will all be together again, and it is with certainty that Tom will continue to care for his loved ones from above.

A Celebration of Life for Thomas E. Moon will be held on October 9, 2023, following 11am graveside services at North Syracuse Cemetery, off South Bay Road. Friends and family are invited to attend this Celebration of Life gathering to honor Tom's life at Sharkey's in Liverpool from 12 until 4pm.
