Cindy J. Mahan, 65 of Cicero, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 16th.
She was born in Watertown, NY and raised and educated in Liverpool. Growing up Cindy spent summers in Heuvelton with her grandparents.
She retired from CNA insurance after 27 years. Cindy was known for her great sense of humor and quick wit. She never hesitated to speak her mind and had a way of entertaining everyone she met. Cindy could make a friend no matter where she was. Cindy will be truly missed.
Cindy married her high school sweetheart, Michael Proch and they just celebrated their 44th anniversary. They shared a love of travel, having visited Chile, France, Germany, Italy, the Caribbean, Bermuda; as well as, throughout the United States.
Cindy was fluent in French, Italian and German and inherited her father's artistic ability.
Cindy had an incredible knack of reciting famous lines from TV shows, movies and song lyrics and apply them to everyday situations. We all have fond memories of Cindy's singing the lines to us.
She was predeceased by her parents, Beverly J. (Knapp) and Charles E. Mahan.
Cindy is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Michael Proch; two sisters, Cathy Dziedzic (Steve) of Brooksville, FL, Dawn Mahan (John Hart); a niece and nephew, Katherine Dziedzic and Thomas Dziedzic (Amanda); sisters-in-law, Susan Proch and Loraine Proch; brother-in-law, Andrew Proch; faithful dogs Winnie and Wally and two cats Lucy and Pete.
Cindy and Mike enjoyed spending summers at Hickory Lake and most recently purchased a house on Lake Ontario.
At her request, there will be no calling hours. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Heuvelton, NY.
