Edward A. Pontello

Edward Anthony Pontello, 81, passed away on Saturday, August 20th, 2022. He was born on June 14th, 1941 in Syracuse, NY to Diego and Desileana Pontello.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a tech mechanic from 1966-1970 and received an honorable discharge. His passion was building cars with his brother, Carmen and competing in car shows. Both brothers were formerly members of The Valley Drivers Association, N.H.R.A.-E.S.T.A. Ed enjoyed family meetings at Oswego Speedway, cookouts and boating.
His wife, Barbara was the love of his life and drove him crazy with her compassion for animals, especially taking in stray cats and dogs. Ed learned to love this too, specifically "Suzi" and "Fiesty". He was known to all for his stories and sense of humor and had the best laugh. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, yet welcomed by his wife, Barbara.
He is survived by his sons, Edward Pontello and David Pontello; granddaugthers, Olivia and Gabby.
Predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Krishak.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals on Thursday, Sept 1st, 2022 from 4-7pm. Funeral service will follow at 7pm.
