Robert L. Trombley, 74, passed on after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Malone, NY and lived most of his life in Syracuse, NY. Robert served in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper from 1964 until 1967. He was a plumber for the Local 267 from 1968 until his retirement from Onondaga County in 2008. Robert was a member of the European Motor Club of CNY for many years. He enjoyed tinkering with his old cars and loved spending summers on the St. Lawrence River; most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Treffley and Thelma Trombley.
He is survived by loving wife of 41 years, Linda (Hafner) Trombley; children, Patricia (Rob) Sanner, Christian (Kelly) Trombley and Kimberley (Phil) Turrell; step-son, Keith (Lisa) Fox; grandchildren, Devin, Kieran, Grace, Gavin, Nathan, Matthew, Morgan, Courtney and Colby; great-granddaughter, Eliza; brothers, Ronald Trombley of Florida and Roger (Joanne) Trombley of Marcellus, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins and his two fur babies, Scooter and Chewie.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 29th 2-4pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals with a service to follow at 4pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Hospice of CNY.
Gathering size within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
