Marcia Winokur

Marcia A. Winokur died peacefully on August 8, 2020, due to complications of Parkinson's Disease.
Marcia was born in Vermont to the late Harold and Rose Shiro. Marcia was raised in Lawrence, Ma. She graduated from Fisher College, Boston. She had been retired from many years of work as promotional manager at the Fayetteville Mall. Marcia was an active member of the Adirondacks Mountain Club (ADK). She served on the executive board, was a trail steward, and developed and led adventure outings in hiking, xcountry skiing, snowshoeing, and kayaking. She was "famous" for her high speed hikes and xcountry ski trips under a full moon. Marcia was an exceptional outdoors woman. She contributed to others' enjoyment of the surroundings and was a benefactor to nature.
Marcia is survived by, and cherished and missed by her daughter, Tracey Gutman, her son, Michael Winokur; grandson Zack Gutman; and her sister, Ellen Shiro.
