Lawrence "Larry" Sawyer, 70, of Syracuse, passed away January 27, 2020.
Lawrence was born in Saranac Lake, New York on July 17, 1949 to the late Robert and Annabelle Sawyer. Larry served in the United States Air Force and then retired from Lipe Rollway. Larry enjoyed fishing, going to his sister Ethel's camp, and vacationing in North Carolina.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Michele Sawyer; children, Shannon (Jason Dowling) Younis, Steve Younis, Heather Crosby, and Samantha Sawyer; his siblings, Joe Sawyer, Sally (Joe) Zella, Julie (Kevin) Dunn, Sylvia (Dave) Kasper, Amy (Harold) Russell , Dave (Joyce) Sawyer, Stanley (Shirley) Sawyer, Sam Sawyer, Molly Sawyer, Kitty (Nick) Aiello; grandchildren, Alexis (Justin) Doughty, Zachary Younis, Eric Crosby, Nicolas Crosby, William Fromaget, Angelina Fromaget, Savannah Sawyer, Nathan Sawyer, Mason Dischiave; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his special companion – his dog Luna.
He was predeceased by his parents; sisters and brother-in-law, Tina Stanard and Ethel (Frank) Peters; brother, Bruce Sawyer; and sister-in-law, Carol Sawyer.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals - North Syracuse, 705 N. Main St, Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes.
