Virginia I. (Allen) Simms

Virginia I. (Allen) Simms, 86, of N. Syracuse, NY and formerly of Palermo, NY, passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2019 with loving family and friends by her side.

Virginia was a 1951 graduate of Mexico High School and completed Bryant and Strattton Business School. She was employed by R.E. Dietz Co. for 33 years and also worked as a T.A. at Hancock Airport.

She enjoyed spending time at her camp at Brennens Beach, bowling, playing cards but her greatest passion was spending time with family and good friends (of which she had many). Virginia was a member of VFW Auxillary 7290 in N. Syracuse.

Virginia was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Genevieve (Poole) Allen; brother, Ted Allen; husband, James Simms; granddaughter, Brittani Sass and son-in-law, George Sass.

She is survived by her two children, Victoria Sass and James Simms; daughter-in-law, Debbie Simms; 2 sisters, Cynthia (Dave) Seely and Linda (Jodie) Guyer; brother, Burdette (Joyce) MacDougal; sister-in-law, Helen Allen; her partner of over 20 years, David Tracey and his 2 daughters, Cyndi and Sheri; 3 grandchildren, Kevin, Christina and Michael; 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, November 8th 6pm-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals in N. Syracuse with a service to follow at 7pm.
