George J. McLaughlin, 68, of Cicero, passed away October 22, 2018.
He was born May 9, 1950 in Somerville, Massachusetts to the late George Joseph McLaughlin Sr. and Mary (Novelle) McLaughlin and raised in Woburn, MA.
He married his wife of 47 years, Donna Marie Elliott of Tilton, New Hampshire on October 30, 1971. He served in the Marines from 1968-1970 and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a police officer in Nashua, New Hampshire(1972-1976) and attended Rivier College in Nashua; completing his bachelor's degree majoring in Economics and Business Administration from SUNY Empire State College (1997). He retired in 2012 after a 36 year career with FedEx Express Corporation.
He is survived by his wife Donna; daughters, Tara Romeo and Megan Van Ornum; 6 grandchildren who called him "Papa", Ashley and Nichole Burgen, Garrett George Romeo, Cayla, Emily, and Chloe Van Ornum; siblings, Thomas Fraser, Joseph George McLaughlin, Clare Kolman, and Margaret Joyce.
He had an interest in genealogy, and loved traveling with his wife Donna, often times bringing the children along. He loved holidays with family and always helped with the food preparation. Family always came first. We will carry his memory in our hearts.
